Those of you who know me well, know that my first artistic endeavor was music. I have been a musician since 1989, and a hip hop artist since 1995. I became more serious about it when I found friends who had the same interests, and we began making music together sometime in 1999. I have always been more fond of hip hop as a form of street art than as a commercial art, but I recognized the need for formal organization when our ranks swelled. In 2007 I filed the paperwork and legitimatized the ‘independent label’ which is in fact more of a collective. ‘F Word Records’ became Final Word Records LLC.
Over the years we struggled through all the pitfalls that a young organization could face, and now finally some 6 years later things have finally come to a point where the total is equal to more than the sum of its parts. Some of the guys including myself, casually produce music when it fits into their life. Others are continually and habitually producing. There are 20 of us now, and everyone brings something different to the table. I am very excited to see where things will go in the near future, and if you are a fan of underground hip hop, you should definitely check us out.
